Fun facts about the Crocodile

Crocodiles have the strongest bite of any living animal, yet the muscles to open their jaws are so weak that a rubber band can hold them shut. They carry stones in their stomachs as ballast to help them dive and stay underwater. Crocodile mothers are among the most attentive reptile parents, carrying hatchlings gently to water in their mouths. They can slow their heart to two beats per minute when submerged.

Carving the Crocodile

The Crocodile offers a moderate challenge: it has both broad areas to clear quickly and fine details that reward a careful hand. Start with the gouge on large negative-space areas.

Switch to the chisel for the mid-range details, and finish any thin protrusions with the knife. Use a Peek if you lose track of the proportions.
