Lions are the only cats that live in social groups called prides, which are structured around related females. Male lions sleep up to 20 hours a day while lionesses do 90% of the hunting. A lion's mane darkens with age and testosterone levels, serving as a signal of health and strength to rivals and mates.
The Lion is one of the trickier carvings in the set. Its silhouette has multiple thin appendages and concave areas that require precise knife work to score well.
