Fun facts about the Whale

Blue whales are the largest animals ever known to have existed on Earth, reaching up to 30 metres in length. Humpback whales compose complex, evolving songs that can last up to 20 minutes and are heard across entire ocean basins. Whales breathe air like humans and must surface regularly — a blue whale's breath can shoot water 9 metres into the air. The bowhead whale is the longest-living mammal, with individuals known to survive over 200 years.

Carving the Whale

The Whale has a clean, simple silhouette — one of the most forgiving animals in the Whittle puzzle set. Its shape translates well to broad strokes with the gouge.

Focus on clearing the corners first, then work inward with the chisel to refine the outline. Even beginners can achieve Apprentice rank with a steady approach.
